Learn to Draw Anime by Steps

Learn anime drawing one step at a time

Learn to Draw Anime by Steps is an Art & Design app for beginners and developing artists who want guided practice instead of a blank page. It breaks anime-style drawing into smaller tasks, helping you work from simple forms toward more detailed character illustrations. Lessons cover familiar problem areas such as facial features, expressive eyes, hair, body proportions and poses.

A practical lesson library

The app is built around step-by-step video instruction. Each lesson gives you a process to follow while you sketch, making it suitable for short practice sessions or longer drawing time. You can pause between stages, copy the demonstrated construction, and repeat a section when a shape or proportion needs more work. That format makes the app useful for learners who prefer seeing each part of a drawing develop in sequence.

• Guided lessons for anime and manga-inspired character drawing
• Exercises focused on faces, eyes, hair, poses and other character details
• Material that can support both early practice and continued skill building
• Video-based instruction suited to following along with a sketchbook

Who it suits

This is a good fit if you enjoy anime art but need a clear starting point, or if you want regular prompts to strengthen basic drawing habits. It is less about browsing finished artwork and more about learning a repeatable method. Beginners can use the guided progression to avoid tackling a full character all at once, while more experienced users may find individual lessons useful for revisiting anatomy or refining expressions.

Developed by Rstream Labs, the app has a 4.5-star rating from about 47,400 reviews and more than 5,000,000 installs. Those figures suggest a broad audience for its focused, tutorial-led approach to anime drawing.
